5 years since our last journal post...nice
Okay, well for those of you who are new here, and I'm using the term "new" very loosely, welcome!
This group has been pretty dormant for the last 5 years. New art was being accepted...and that's about it. Well, there's about to be a big ole re-haul. I will be completely reorganizing art folders, making for easier navigation of our wonderful Deviations, favoriting more obscure & wonderful pieces
, and once a month, writing a new journal entry to keep up with the new Disney films, theme park attractions & events, and also to try some fan art contests.
Hopefully this will spark and inspire more creativity and enthusiasm with you all, our amazing members!
So thank you for sticking around all these years and I will try my darndest to make up for all the wasted time.
Now I'd like to move on to some rules. I'm not sure if we ever had any in the first place, but as art keeps on rolling in, we need to have some order with our chaos.
Rules & Regulations
With our re-haul coming, new folders for specific art pieces will be created. Please keep in mind, when submitting your art, to submit it to a folder. It'll make organizing & art perusing easier.
Though all types of Disney art is welcome here, it must be ART. While we love seeing your photos of you on vacation with your fave Disney character, this group is not your personal photo album or collectibles shelf. Professional and amateur photography is of course welcomed here, but it must be a composed photograph, not just a selfie. Ya feel me?
Having said all art is welcome here, we do mean we will accept all kinds of art. We acknowledge that someone's expression of art is different than others', so we will be adding a "Mature Art" folder. Please, if you are easily offended
or a youngin
, just scroll on by that folder and enjoy the other work we have to offer. There's lots of it
Lastly, this is a friendly & open-minded sort of group, so please don't ever make it your mission to go around being cruel. Some people want criticism on their work, some don't. Some people like certain movies and some don't. There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism or friendly, open debate, just as long as we're all being mature and reasonable about it. There are enough negative places on the internet nowadays and this doesn't need to be one of them. Let's be supportive of one another's creativity
So what would you guys like to see from the group other than the things I mentioned above? Any specific branches of the Disney fandom that we should focus on? Any cool contest ideas? I'm open to suggestions! Please leave your idea below!
Again, thank you guys so much for sticking around all these years, you're the best! Hopefully we'll start having some fun here real soon!
Love, Emmy (Founder)
